Join us for a conversation with Tamara Abu Laban, a filmmaker, director, producer, cinematographer and editor. She was born and grew up in Dheisheh refugee camp near Bethlehem.
Tamara studied media in Egypt where she gained experience in large-scale cinema productions. She received her Master’s degree in producing from the Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts in Jordan. Tamara established a production company with her friends, producing many short films. She produced and directed a TV series for the Ramadan Season in 2014, called (Show Fat)
Her dream is to make films that tell real stories about Palestinians. She hopes to reveal stories of strong women who resist all kinds of oppression and who continue to grow.
She is the initiator of the project "Women Make a Change".
